I am a ceramic, mosaic and sculptural artist based in Newport, South Wales, and have been designing and constructing bespoke art work for corporate clients, councils and communities for 15 years.  I have an exuberant and rich style influenced by an eclectic range of studies into worldwide cultural aesthetics and design philosophies that permeate my work in hidden layers of meaning.

I have extensive knowledge and experience of ceramic, sculptural, and mosaic techniques and their associated materials and process' as well as practical experience of integrating creative works into construction and interior projects. I also project manage and liase with architects, interior designers, landscapers and project engineers to fulfil the vision of my clients as well as employing the services of trusted professionals in the installations of larger works when the need arises.

I am passionate about working on unique, more personal commissions that nurture the clients ideas with close collaboration from the concept through to the fruition of the work.

Glyn Bateman

My art practice mainly developed from within the sphere of graphical design, advertising and illustration. My work utilizes visual devices such as repetition and pattern and involves the use of image manipulation. This is achieved either by hand or through digital means, incorporating elements of painting, drawing, digital photography, collage and printmaking.

I am greatly inspired and influenced by the cultural movement of Dadaism (1916-1922) and the revolutionary Surrealists of the 1920s, adopting their ideals of working with and interpolating preexisting objects and images, in order to create new realities and infer new meanings.

I also, enjoy producing bespoke art, design and illustrative work for both web and print based output.
